Got a Tip?

Parker Posey Joins ‘Grace Of Monaco’; Frank Grillo Rolls With Jason Statham & James Franco To ‘Homefront’

nullYou love Parker Posey, we love Parker Posey — who doesn't love Parker Posey? If there is somebody out there who isn't down with the actress, then we just don't want to know them, but for the rest of us, she's lining up a role in what is shaping up to be the most fascinating and unlikely of movies about one of the great cinema stars of all time.

Parker, along with Milo Ventimiglia, has joined "Grace Of Monaco" aka That Movie Where Nicole Kidman Plays Grace Kelly. Penned by Arash Amel ("The Expatriate"), the story is set in 1962, when the city-state of Monaco got into a heated dispute with France, which had grown tired of the small principality being a tax haven. Charles De Gaulle gave Kelly's husband Prince Rainier III six months to change his tax laws, and she maneuvered behind the scenes to save Monaco from a coup. Posey will play Kelly's scheming lady-in-waiting Madge Tivey-Faucon, while Ventimiglia is slotted to play Rupert Allan, Kelly's publicist. "La Vie En Rose" director Olivier Dahan is behind the camera, and production begins shortly in Belgium with Paz Vega, Tim Roth and Frank Langella rounding out the cast.

Meanwhile, the always badass Frank Grillo is to bring his steez to "Homefront" with James Franco, Jason Statham and Winona Ryder. The Sylvester Stallone-penned film follows an ex-DEA agent (Statham) who moves his family to a quiet town only to find it under the thumb of a ruthless meth kingpin named Gator (Franco). Grillo will play one of Gator's henchmen, joining Ryder as a biker chick who also breaks bad. Gary Fleder directs with production to begin this month, and yes, this sounds awesome. [Variety/Variety]

  1. Kevin, I don't always like Parker Posey. She was annoying in the Superman reboot. I loved her in Dazed and Confused and Party Girl, because it fit her wacky personality. But, she needs to reduce her over-the-top acting style, because she seems like she is bitten by fleas. Plus, Posey always seems "on"- very similar to Chris Pratt ( Mr. Energize Bunny).
