Paris Hilton Reportedly Shoots A Cameo For Sofia Coppola’s ‘The Bling Ring’

nullSofia Coppola has always managed to put together impressive casts for her movies, and her latest, the currently-in-production "The Bling Ring," is no exception. After casting Emma Watson, Leslie Mann and, apparently, frequent collaborator Kirsten Dunst (if recent set photos are indeed evidence of her participation), Coppola has brought in an award-winning actress for her latest addition: two-time Gold Raspberry winner Paris Hilton ("The Hottie and the Nottie," "Repo! The Genetic Opera").

It's not as bad as it seems. "The Bling Ring" is based on the real-life group of California teens who burglarized over $3 million from the homes of several celebrities, including Hilton, and, after wanting one of the actual victims to appear in the film, Coppola has cast the hotel heiress as play herself. According to Sky News' insiders, Hilton's cameo was reportedly shot at the Sayers Club in Hollywood with Watson and Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, who plays a sleazy club promoter named Ricky.

Besides Watson, Mann and possibly Dunst, "The Bling Ring" is filled with mostly unknowns, including Carlos Miranda, Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock and Taissa Farmiga. As mentioned in our script review, the film has a "almost-docu-drama" feel to it, adding a new approach for Coppola's continuing obsession with class and the lifestyles of the rich and privileged. And who better to aid in that pursuit than Paris? At best, she'll add another layer of realism, and, at worse, she might get her third Razzie nomination.

Production is ongoing and while we're hopeful that "The Bling Ring" might hit theaters before the year ends, a safer bet is probably next year.
