‘Tulsa King’: First Look At Sly Stallone In Mafia Series From Taylor Sheridan

Taylor Sheridan (“Wind River,” “Sicario“) has been putting together a television empire at Paramount that would make Dick Wolf (“Law & Order“) jealous after multiple “Yellowstone” shows and the Jeremy Renner thriller series “Mayor of Kingstown,” and even more is on the horizon. One of those new projects is gangster series “Tulsa King” which sees Sly Stallone (“Cop Land“) in a more dramatic role for the beloved action star.

Paramount+ has released a first look image (See below) giving us our first glimpse of Stallone as his character, a New York mobster named Dwight “The General” Manfredi as he’s standing in the middle of the city.

Here is the show’s previous logline: “The Tulsa King” follows a New York City Italian mobster (Stallone), forced to relocate to the most unlikely of places—Kansas City, Missouri. Set in the present-day, legendary mobster Sal (Stallone) is faced with the startling task of reestablishing his Italian mafia family to the modernized, straight-shooting town of Kansas City. There, Sal encounters surprising and unsuspecting characters who follow him along his unconventional path to power.

Actors that will be seen alongside Stallone include “Boardwalk Empire” alumni Domenick Lombardozzi (“The Irishman”), Max Casella (“Killing Them Softly,” “The Sopranos“), and Vincent Piazza (“Jersey Boys“). It’s a great group of seasoned television actors perfectly cast for a series tackling a new Italian-American mafia series and we can’t wait to watch some footage as a trailer is likely just around the corner.

Other “Yellowstone” connected shows on the way from Sheridan are “6666” and “1932.” Not to mention original television series also in the works such as “Bass Reeves“ starring David Oyelowo, Billy Bob Thornton‘s “Land Man,” and Zoe Salanda‘s “Lioness.”

Some upcoming film projects starring Stallone are Lionsgate‘s “Expendables 4” and the superhero pic “Sarmatian.”

Stallone’s “Tusla King” is expected to premiere this fall on Paramount+.
