‘Panic Room’ At 20: Remember The Era Of The Blockbuster Adult Thriller? [The Playlist Podcast]

Twenty years seems like a long time, until you’re a person of a certain age and that length of time feels like it passes in the blink of an eye. This is the case with the David Fincher film, “Panic Room,” which was released 20 years ago this week. It surely doesn’t feel like two decades have passed since Fincher, along with his cast of Jodie Foster, Kristen Stewart, Jared Leto, Forest Whitaker, and Dwight Yoakam, released the blockbuster thriller. Things have changed quite a bit since 2002 in the way films are released, budgets are handed out, and box office money is allocated.

And is “Panic Room” an underrated film in the pantheon of David Fincher features?
