Got a Tip?

Pakistani Action Film ‘Waar,’ ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ & ’12 Years A Slave’ Top IMDb Best Of 2013 Poll

Waar

Yeah, we know….it’s only hours until the ball drops in Times Square and yes, we’ll be getting our party hats on soon. But one more list for you before we say hello to 2014: it’s the IMDB Best Of 2013 Poll.

Yep, the comprehensive site of all things movies has released their list of the Highest Rated Feature Films Released In 2013 with the caveat being they had to get at least 10,000 votes. And perhaps speaking to the growing influence of international audiences, the Pakistani action flick “Waar” (an Urdu word meaning “to strike”) came out on top with a 9.1/10. You can check out a trailer for the movie below so you can get a sense of what the war on terror themed flick is all about.

Coming in right behind, surprisingly given its C+ CinemaScore, is Martin Scorsese‘s controversial “The Wolf Of Wall Street” (8.8/10) followed closely by “12 Years A Slave” (8.7/10). Essentially, the biggest and/or most acclaimed of the movies of the year take up the majority of the list, with some random outliers like the mediocre rom-com “About Time” managing to sneak on there.

  3. Nathu Qassai,

I think you are one of the morons who are just here to talk crap about Pakistani movies, even the Indian director RGV has praised this movie, and pls stop talking about ladies of Pakistan. We don't have an open society like west and respect our ladies.

  4. I am a pakistani, but thin waar is a propaganda movie. Though the quality of movie is good, but still i think it doesnt deserve 9.1. It was not the best.

  5. Waar, a real deal. Excellent movie for this country. Watched it and loved it…..a true smoking gun. Can't believe they actually have beautiful ladies there.

  6. I must say Waar is a brilliant movie for cinema like Pakistan where less than a dozen movies are made in a year. Its not bollywood or hollywood. To create something like that and get it successful was a great task. I personally enjoyed the movie. People go watch it in cinemas. Its worth it! Also http://egmante.com

  8. WAAR: Everyone has been complaining about us, all this while. Now hear our part of the story. Really good portrayal of what's happening in this war against terror, from perspective of a common Pakistani.

  9. But they're gonna change!!!
Wolf of Wall Street had 9.2 last week. Gravity had 9.4 in October for a short time. It's like giving the "final" verdict on a movie from Rotten Tomatoes when only 11 critics have given an opinion.

  10. Waar the Pakistan. The movie has really done an amazing business with outstanding special effects. I heard its in English. On my no 1. Watchlist now.
