Since its debut in Summer 2017, “Ozark” has become one of Netflix‘s most popular series. While the show’s first two seasons generally had favorable reviews, critics also noted its similarity to “Breaking Bad” and a humorless approach to its story. Both critics and audiences loved Season Three, however, and its shocking conclusion set up what’s sure to be a tension-filled finale to the series.

Now, after almost two years without new episodes, “Ozark” is back for its fourth and final season. The show follows the Byrde family as they leave their home in suburban Chicago to set up shop in the Ozarks region of Missouri. The catch is that family patriarch Marty, a financial advisor, oversees a money-laundering operation and has plans to set up an even bigger one in Missouri. As the series continues, the family gets further embroiled in the criminal underworld as they brush shoulders with local crime families, dueling drug cartels, and the Kansas City mafia.
Jason Bateman leads a cast that includes Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, and Julia Garner. The show also stars Lisa Emergy, Charlie Tahan, Jessica Frances Dukes, Felix Solis, and Joseph Sikora.
New actors in season four include Bruno Bichir, Katrina Lenk, CC Castillo, Eric Ladin, Bruce Davidson, Veronica Falcón, and Ali Stroker, among others.
Details are slim on plot details for the new season of “Ozark,” but after the shocking deaths that ended last season, expect there to be some significant fallout for both Marty and Wendy. Netflix has already revealed that Season Four has two parts of seven episodes each, so expect the Byrne saga to get to a proper send-off.
Part One of “Ozark” Season 4 premieres on Netflix on January 21, 2022. Check out the new teaser below.
