Got a Tip?

‘Ozark’ Announces A Part 1, Season 4 Return On January 21, 2022

Mixing family and crime and getting in two deep with both, Netflix’s “Ozark” series could have easily been just another “Breaking Bad” knock-off. In fact, that’s about as generous as critics were with the show at first, which was admittedly similar to the family dynamics of AMC’s hit series. But “Ozark,” created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams, quickly found its own footing and became another evolution in the idea of how the immorality of crime can sink an entire family into a morass, even if they’re desperately trying to get out of it.

Moreover, starring Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Julia Garner and many more terrific character actors—Jordana Spiro, Jason Butler Harner, Esai Morales, Peter Mullan, Lisa Emery, Charlie Tahan, Janet McTeer, Tom Pelphrey-— “Ozark” soon became a critical favorite and the series thus far has earned itself a whopping 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2019 and Julia Garner winning twice consecutively for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019 and 2020. Bateman has received two further Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actor – Television Series Drama. Not too shabby.

Now, “Ozark” is coming to an end, but it’s doing so in two parts: 14 episodes total, seven for part one, seven for part two, and it all starts in the new year in January.

Here’s the season four synopsis:

Season 4 of Ozark will be released in two parts consisting of 7 episodes each. Part 1 will be released on Netflix on January 21. The new season stars Emmy Award® Winner Jason Bateman, Emmy Award® Winner Laura Linney, Emmy Award® Winner Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan, Jessica Frances Dukes, Lisa Emery, Felix Solis, Damian Young, Alfonso Herrera, Adam Rothenberg, John Bedford Lloyd, Joseph Sikora, Bruno Bichir, CC Castillo, Katrina Lenk, Bruce Davison, Ali Stroker, and Veronica Falcón. Emmy Award® Nominee Chris Mundy returns as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Jason Bateman, Mark Williams, John Shiban, Patrick Markey, and Bill Dubuque serve as executive producers. Laura Linney serves as Co-Executive Producer. The series is from MRC Television.

ABOUT THE SERIES:
Ozark is a thrilling drama set in the present day and follows the Byrde family’s journey from their normal, suburban Chicago life to their dangerous criminal enterprise in the Ozarks, Missouri. The series explores capitalism, family dynamics, and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans.

“Ozark” season four, part one, premieres January 21, 2022, on Netflix. Watch the new announcement teaser below.
