So what do Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker and now Ophelia Lovibond have in common? Believe it or not, this grab-bag, eclectic batch of actors constitute the cast of a movie which is shaping up to be a pretty interesting little gamble on behalf of Marvel.
Brit actress Lovibond has joined “Guardians Of The Galaxy” aka that-superhero-movie-with-the-talking-raccoon-and-tree. According to THR, she’ll be taking the role of a character alongside The Collector, “who gathers artefacts and beings in the hopes of saving them from a foretold galactic annihilation.” Kind of like a futuristic hoarder-curator? Update: That part go scrubbed from the trades, so it’s a mystery for now. Anyway, if you’re still stuck on who Lovibond is exactly, she’s been rising steadily on both sides of the pond, with “Nowhere Boy,” “4,3,2,1,” “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” and “No Strings Attached” amongst the handful of movies you may have seen her in.
‘Galaxy’ could be one of the more interesting movie posters of 2014, and a curious little number from the Marvel factory. Production begins in June on the James Gunn-directed movie and it will drop on August 1, 2014.
THR doesn't mention anything about The Collector. "Details of Lovibondâs role are being kept in the further reaches of deep space, home of Marvel's security bunker."
Who?
