“The OA” is the textbook definition of a polarizing TV series. Either you absolutely love it or you think it’s terrible. There are very few people that would fall in between those extremes. And interestingly enough, your feelings on the show probably weren’t cemented until the very end, with a scene that won’t be spoiled here but sparked some incredible debate. That being said, regardless of your views of the series, “The OA” was a hit for Netflix and is about to make its returns, with ‘Part II.’

In the first trailer for ‘Part II,’ we see that the series is going in a very different direction. No longer is the series a fairly small-scale mystery about what happened to a blind woman that goes missing for years, only to return with her sight intact. While the trailer for the second season definitely has its fair share of mysteries, it looks as if creators Brit Marling (who also stars) and Zal Batmanglij have upped the stakes and scale of the series to a huge degree. Alternate universes, missing people, and a detective at the center of it all play an important role in the upcoming ‘OA’ season.
“The OA” stars Marling alongside Jason Isaacs, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emory Cohen, Patrick Gibson, Phyllis Smith, Sharon Van Etten, Will Brill, Brendan Meyer, Ian Alexander, Brandon Perea, and Chloë Levine.
“The OA” returns to Netflix on March 22.

The “mind-bending” story returns with The OA Part II, which follows OA as she navigates a new dimension, one in which she had a completely different life as a Russian heiress, and one in which she once again finds herself as Hap’s captive. Part II introduces Karim Washington, a private detective tasked with finding a missing teen, Michelle Vu. His path crosses with OA, as they try to solve the mystery of Michelle’s whereabouts and a house on Nob Hill connected to the disappearance of several teenagers. Meanwhile, back in the first dimension, BBA, Angie and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described.
