Is past trauma ever really forgotten? “Now And Then,” a new bilingual, Miami-set thriller coming to AppleTV+, explores this question as a group of old college friends reckon with their tragic past decades later.

Here’s the official synopsis from AppleTV+:
“Now and Then” is a multi-layered thriller that explores the differences between youthful aspirations and the reality of adulthood, when the lives of a group of college best friends are forever changed after a celebratory weekend ends up with one of them dead. Now, 20 years later, the remaining five are reluctantly reunited by a threat that puts their seemingly perfect worlds at risk.
“Now And Then” boasts a large ensemble cast that includes Academy Award nominees Marina de Tavira and Rosie Perez. The cast also includes Ariel Award winner José Maria Yazpik, Goya Award winners Maribel Verdú and Soledad Villamil, and Emmy Award winner Željko Ivanek. Manolo Cardona, Jorge López, Alicia Jaziz, Dario Yazbek Bernal, Alicia Sanz, Jack Duarte, and Miranda de la Serna also star.
AppleTV+ snags the rights for “Now And Then” from Bambú Producciones and creators Ramón Campos, Teresa Fernández-Valdés and Gema R. Neira. Campos and Fernández-Valdés serve as the series showrunners, while the series is written by Neira and Campos. Gideon Raff directs the series, and also serves as co-executive producer.
“Now And Then” joins the ranks of other upcoming shows from global storytellers that include “Suspicion,” starring Uma Thurman, and the Israeli series “False Flag.” Will this series measure up against the others?
