During the halcyon days of the 1990s, studios hadn’t heard of shared universes, sequels were typically cheaper than their predecessors and celluloid still ruled the world. A new video compilation from Morskoi Kotik takes back us back to those simpler times.
Running just under ten minutes, Kotik’s video —“It’s my 90’s (Back to the VHS)”— runs through 60 of the editor’s favorite films of that decade, including films as disparate as “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “The Shawshank Redemption” and “Major Payne.” It’s an inviting trip down memory lane with some period-relevant tunes scoring the video.
Watch the video below and try to see how many films you can name. [35MM]
How many Turtles scenes? Meh.
