Disney’s quest for global domination is no joke and tonight at the D23 Expo, the company threw around their weight in Anaheim demonstrating to audiences and journalists why their streaming service Disney+ will be an essential subscription to have come November. This was the goal: make Disney+ look like a juggernaut and put Netflix on notice that they’re about to start nipping at their heels. While D+ showed off their Marvel and “Star Wars” muscle, that’s not all the streaming service has to offer. Demonstrating they’re a destination for all audience, Disney also revealed the first trailer for “Noelle,” a holiday comedy meant for the whole family.

“Noelle” stars Anna Kendrick as Noelle Claus, the daughter of Santa Claus. It also stars Bill Hader, Billy Eichner, Shirley MacLaine, and Julie Hagerty. Character actor Bryan Brendle apparently plays Santa Claus. Directed by Marc Lawrence (“Two Weeks Notice,” ”Music and Lyrics,” “Did You Hear About the Morgans?”), “Noelle” is the story of Santa’s daughter finding herself in the position of having to take over the family business. Though it’s not as easy as that at first.
