Got a Tip?

Noah Centineo Will Declare He Has The Power In New ‘Masters Of The Universe’ Film

To all the toys I’ve loved before…

Noah Centineo, the star of Netflix’s runaway teen rom-com hit, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” is now about to be the face of a major studio franchise, according to Variety. The young actor is apparently set to star as He-Man in a brand-new “Masters of the Universe” remake.

For those not aware of the amazing ‘80s toyline/animated series, “Masters of the Universe,” the story follows He-Man (who also poses as Prince Adam), a warrior that has to defend the realm of Eternia from the evil Skeletor. No, we aren’t talking about Shakespeare here. But nevertheless, the toys and animated series were a hallmark of ‘80s awesomeness and even spawned a live-action film from 1987 of the same name that starred Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella. It was not good. But yet, it was still pretty great. You just have to see a troll, named Gwildor, play a keytar-like instrument to summon a portal to understand.

As mentioned, Centineo went from unknown TV actor from Freeform’s “The Fosters” to one of the biggest heartthrobs on the planet thanks to the Netflix film from 2018. Since then, the actor (who is seriously a time-displaced Mark Ruffalo) has been one of the most talked-about folks in Hollywood, with studios lining up to get him to star in something. Think Robert Pattinson, but in his early “Twilight” prime.

The actor recently wrapped up work on the upcoming “Charlie’s Angels” reboot, and will also be seen in the upcoming films “The Perfect Date,” “The Diary,” and of course, the sequel to “To All the Boys…”

Adam and Aaron Nee are the men hired to direct the new “Masters of the Universe.” And despite my clear nostalgia-filled excitement for the film, it’s clear, given the source material, the brothers have an uphill battle making He-Man a “cool” character by 2019 standards.

Here’s the trailer for the 1987 film:
