It’s pretty obvious that Nicole Kidman absolutely loves doing limited series TV work nowadays. Sure, she’s doing feature films still—recently seen in last year’s “Bombshell” and will have starring roles in both “Prom” and “The Northman” coming soon—but it’s clear that the actress is enjoying the success she’s had on the small screen, in the wake of “Big Little Lies.” And now, as we wait for her HBO series, “The Undoing,” to hit, the actress has already lined up her next big limited series, “Pretty Things.”
According to THR, Kidman has signed on to star in and executive produce the limited series, “Pretty Things” at Amazon. The show is based on the upcoming novel by author Janelle Brown, who will also adapt her book for the TV series. “Pretty Things” tells the story of two women that attempt to survive a game of deceit and destruction, as a grifter befriends a wealthy “influencer” in Lake Tahoe.
In addition to Kidman and Brown, the series will also be produced by Reed Morano, who has an overall TV deal with Amazon and is already working on two forthcoming series of her own. It’s unclear if the filmmaker will direct at all, but she’s definitely attached as an executive producer.
As mentioned, Kidman has been really busy lately with TV series. In addition to two seasons of the Emmy-winning HBO drama, “Big Little Lies,” the actress is set to debut her most recent series, “The Undoing,” later this year. Originally scheduled for a May release, “The Undoing” has been delayed due to the production stoppage that has been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. She’s also set to star in the upcoming series, “The Expatriates,” as well as the Hulu series, “Nine Perfect Strangers.”
Needless to say, you’ll have plenty of Nicole Kidman on your TV screen in the years to come.
