From the reels of Marvel’s biggest franchises, Nick Fury and Howard Stark are joining forces in a film together! Only, it’s not actually a Marvel flick teaming up two of its side characters, it’s just Samuel L. Jackson and Dominic Cooper moving away from big budget superhero films and taking more low-key roles in the upcoming independent drama “Reasonable Doubt” (which was once known as “The Good Samaritan” but probably changed so as not be confused with Jackson's recent "The Samaritan").
Variety reports that Jackson and Cooper will lead the Peter Howitt-directed legal thriller, which follows a rising District Attorney who is faced with a hit-and-run case with inconclusive evidence. Following the case, the attorney chooses to hunt down the man he helped to acquit. Production is set to ramp up in Canada on November 19th, and we must say that Jackson and Cooper are quite a big get for an indie production of this stature, and the smaller scale may give them an opportunity to flex their dramatic chops away from big Hollywood fare.
The script comes from Peter Dowling ("Flightplan") with Howitt having previously helmed "Sliding Doors" and "Laws Of Attraction." So perhaps something a bit above average than your standard indie? Let's hope.
Nothing like INDIEwire using a headline that ties to one of the biggest blockbusters ever. Why are you guys even part of this network anyway? You seem to just post endless Twilight photos, soundtrack lists and more.
