Nicole Kidman loves HBO and HBO loves Nicole Kidman. Following her 2018 Golden Globe win for “Big Little Lies” (Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television) and another nomination for the same series in 2020, the cable channel was quick to set up something with the star once again. That quickly became, “The Undoing,” a new six-part limited series from Emmy, Academy Award, and Golden Globe-winning director Susanne Bier (who received much acclaim for “The Night Manager” limited series) and the Emmy-winning creator of “Big Little Lies,” David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman.and Emmy nominee Hugh Grant (“A Very English Scandal”). It’s a stacked pack of talent behind this one.

“The Undoing” was supposed to be HBO’s flagship show this summer, but COVID-19 got in the way of that. Directed entirely by Bier and created and written for television by David E. Kelley, who also serves as showrunner; “The Undoing” will air on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max next month. Here’s the official synopsis:
