Not really sure why we need another one so soon, but a second trailer for Edward Zwick’s “Love And Other Drugs” has already arrived and it has a few new scenes we hadn’t seen before. Also a new high-res photo (below) has been released by the studio (here’s the first trailer and some lo-res scans).
Based on Jamie Reidy’s nonfiction book, “Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman,” the story centers on a lothario salesman (Jake Gyllenhaal) who begins a relationship with a woman who has Parkinson’s (Anne Hathaway) — the symptoms of which we finally see here — with their love story playing out in the political and social context of the ’90s. Gabriel Macht, Judy Greer, Oliver Platt, Josh Gad and Hank Azaria co-star.
In the recent issue of EW, Zwick said the “Brokeback Mountain” co-stars had to be extremely “intimate” with each other in the film and already having known each other from the aforementioned Ang Lee film (where they shared a sex scene) definitely helped. Still, we can’t help but think this trailer looks really cornball and not really what we expected. Maybe it’s just the trailer itself. A 20th Century Fox film, “Love And Other Drugs” hits theaters November 24 and doesn’t look like it will be part of the fall film festival circuit.
Agreed. I love the actors but that trailer is so cornball!
he's Clooney in "up in the air" and she's Julia Roberts acting in "sweet november"???
Ed Zwick's default tone was perfected on "Thirtysomething" and hasn't changed over the last twenty odd years. Corn with a side of cheese.
Julia Roberts wasn't in "Sweet November," but good try…?
I saw this film yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that it's not cheesy, but realistic and heartfelt. Brilliantly acted and I shed a tear a few times! Great film.
This movies only redeeming value is seeing Hathaway nude. The plot is predictable, slow paced and unrealistic. Acting is terrible with no real feeling. The brother of the principle is out of place and makes no sense at all. If someone gives you this movie to watch, watch it but beware of strom sexual content and a lousy predictable plot.
