And that’s about all we have to say about that. We’re not a fan of Anywhere I Lay My Head or this track “Falling Down,” either. Something about Scarlett Johansson’s manly voice within this swampy production just bugs us. We’re disappointed overall. To further the “Lost In Translation,” connection – outside of the obvious shots of Scarjo driving around a colorful metropolis and staring out the window forlornly – Johansson goes and gets her make-up and hair done, but wait, it’s done by Japanese people shooting a commercial! just like ‘LIT’!. Whatever, Sorry, we wanted to like this considering all the talent behind it (Bowie does background vocals on this track), but we’re not wit’ it.
Oh let’s not forget it also features Salman Rushdie hitting on her and kissing her neck. No, seriously. Is he supposed to be playing the older, lecherous Bill Murray character? What would Ms. Coppola think?
PS. the video was directed by Bennet Miller, the filmmaker behind the 2005 Academy Award-winning film “Capote.” The inevitable tie-in? He directed Bob Dylan’s the amiably old-timey “When The Deal Goes Down” (from Modern Times) which starred little miss Johansson.

word. her voice sucks.
i preferred it when salman rushdie had a little dignity
This may be a stretch but she sounds like a girl version of Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio…only with much less talent.
Any idea on who directed the video? I can’t find it anywhere.
Ah, yes. Forgot to post that. Duh. See above.
Thanks!!
