It’s not just the cast of Quentin Tarantino‘s ‘The Hateful Eight’ —Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Channing Tatum and Zoe Bell— that’s a big deal. The movie finds the filmmaker going full throttle with 70mm, and the new poster for the movie puts it out there front and center.
Peek down at the right hand corner of this new one sheet, and you’ll see the Ultra Panavision 70 brand standing proud. The last movie to be shot and presented in the format was the 1966 Charlton Heston and Laurence Olivier joint "Khartoum," so Tarantino is not messing around: for two weeks, the film will play roadshow style analog only before getting a digital wide release in 2016.
Take a look at the poster below —will there be a trailer soon? Fingers crossed. [EW]
Looks very sweet. Love westerns. The genre has been experiencing a quiet revitalization recently. h ttp://thefilmbox.org/top-10/ten-best-modern-westerns/
Awesome! Film students will see this in droves!
@Avenger07…not even Inarritu himself would dare to to compare with Tarantino..they are not in the same league..not even the same universe…
I feel that Inglorious Basterds and Django were Tarantino\’s commercial movies (if you can callem that). Seems that this is his back-to-his-roots kind of movie. More personal and I hope an explosion of fun!
Can\’t wait to see Jennifer Jason Leigh in this! Really hope she gets her long-overdue first Oscar nomination.
Pretentious crap……Iñarritu\’s The Revenant will be the real deal.
What creative vision Quentin Tarantino has in his films. This should be a classic – especially with actor Michael Madsen playing "Joe Cage". Exciting all the way around!!!
