With "Crank" directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor taking on the "Ghost Rider" franchise/Nicolas Cage vehicle, we had originally thought there might some crazy B-film genius to be had. Add to that new cast members like Idris Elba and Ciaran Hinds and things seem to be going in the right direction, right? Well, the movie debuted recently at AICN's Butt-Numb-A-Thon, and it looks like it's simply more of the same from the Marvel character.
We wrapped up the tweets and reaction from the premiere but the most eye-catching, we thought, was from one Jordan Hoffman who wrote that "GHOST RIDER 2 makes GHOST RIDER 1 look like DARK KNIGHT." A /Film review, meanwhile, noted that "the script is a boring mess, the movie lacks a proper budget and the post-converted 3D looks pretty horrible." Yikes. With the film getting slammed by the very audience Sony was hoping would eat it up, it looks like they may have a dud on their hands.
A new poster has now been unveiled as well, and it looks to be as uninspired as the movie, which will be unleashed in cinemas on February 17th. [RopeOfSilicon]
