Got a Tip?

New Pictures & Synopsis Of The Will Ferrell Indie Dramedy ‘Everything Must Go’

It was only this spring that casting was coming together for the film, but “Everything Must Go,” a low budget indie dramedy starring Will Ferrell, Rebecca Hall, Laura Dern and Michael Pena is now finished and ready for its World Premiere at TIFF.

Based on a short story by Raymond Carver, the film follows “a recovering alcoholic (Ferrell) who falls off the wagon, is tossed from both his job and home, and must survive on his front lawn by selling his belongings in a yard sale.” The film marks the directorial debut by Dan Rush, whose script for the film landed a coveted spot on the Black List.

Thanks to the TIFF website, we know have some new pictures of the film as well a synopsis for the film after the jump:

After 16 years devising motivational speeches that promise certain success, Nick Porter (Will Ferrell) is abruptly fired. He returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their home and dumped all his possessions on the front yard. Nick puts it all on the line – or, more properly, on the lawn – with an absurdly escalating garage sale that becomes a unique strategy for survival. Nick comes face-to-face with a life turned inside out and discovers in total exposure an unexpected path to renewal.

No word yet on a distributor, but we’ll be surprised if the film doesn’t walk away from TIFF with a deal in place.
