A lesbian werewolf story featuring animated sequences by the legendary Brothers Quay and starring Juno Temple, Riley Keough and pop superstar Kylie Minogue? The ingredients are there for something either truly special or utterly disastrous. And while our review from the Tribeca Film Festival leans toward the latter, there's no doubt that the subject matter and cast should earn "Jack and Diane" some attention when it rolls out.
A batch of new pics have arrived for the movie written and directed by Bradley Rust Gray. The story follows Diane (Temple), a young British teen on holiday in New York who runs into Jack (Keough) and the two immediately begin an intense relationship…and oh yeah, they also happen to be werewolves. "For us to care about the relationship between two characters, it has to make some sort of sense and have a genuine infrastructure, but the movie never bothers to build one," we said in our review. "We dig the aesthetic Gray employs, but the substance just isn't there, and [the film] is regrettably a major disappointment."
But you can check it out for yourself when Magnolia drops it on VOD on September 28th and in theaters on November 2nd. Check out the images below. [Kinopoisk]
