Got a Tip?

New Pics From ‘Prometheus,’ ‘The Raven’ & ‘Dark Shadows’

nullSo, what does Ridley Scott have in store for us with his 3D sorta "Alien"-related "Prometheus"? Aside from the teaser trailer and pep talk by Guy Pearce, the mysteries are being kept close to the chest for the film. And this latest viral image, uncovered on the Weyland Industries viral site is, uh, interesting. It looks more like concept art than an actual still, but if you click that link and look at the super high res version, way way in the back is a character who we figure is either Michael Fassbender or Noomi Rapace. Whoever it is, they're standing in the middle of some kind of spherical vortex thingy and we're not even gonna guess what this is all about. But speculate away below if you want. "Prometheus" hits on June 8th.

Looking for some gothic fun? "The Raven" looks like it will deliver in spades with John Cusack going serious as Edgar Allan Poe, poet-turned-crime-solver. The film co-stars Luke Evans and Alice Eve and frankly looks like it could be a juicy slice of pulp, which is just fine by us. As long as it doesn't go into "From Hell" territory, this period serial killer tale should be good fun. A couple new pics have cropped up, and if anything, if Cusack wears a goatee, he means serious business. The James McTeigue-directed movie lands on April 27th.

Finally, still no trailer for "Dark Shadows," which comes out in two months, but here's another image. This time, it's of Helena Bonham Carter looking very….Helena Bonham Carter-esque. In the film, she plays Dr. Julia Hoffman, a psychiatrist called in to help the Collins clan matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) sort out the troubles that are plaguing her family. Presumably this movie is hitting theaters on May 11th, but with no trailers or no posters thus far…we wonder… [Bleeding Cool/STYD/STYD]nullnullnull

  1. I really don't what's going on with Dark Shadows. What is Warner Brothers waiting for? Despite the Depp/Burton pairing, this one is far from a slam dunk. There's already so much noise surrounding most of the other May (and even June) releases. It's bizarre that they're being so quiet.
