After a new trailer a couple of weeks back, some fresh photos have just been released for the forthcoming Aaron Eckhart-led thriller “Erased.” The film also features Liana Liberato and Olga Kurylenko, who’s back in more familiar territory after her excursion with Terrence Malick in “To The Wonder.” The film finds Eckhart playing ex-CIA agent Ben Logan who discovers that he and his daughter (Liberato) have been marked for termination as part of a wide-reaching international conspiracy. A dangerous game of cat and mouse ensues as Logan tries to outsmart his hunters (amongst whom is Kurylenko) and uncover the truth.
“Erased” has led a troubled existence ever since it was originally released last year as “The Expatriate” in foreign territories. An early DVD release in France spawned high piracy rates during its first week of global release in September 2012, and by October the film was already the 10th most pirated movie globally (in a list otherwise populated by studio released Hollywood films). But that issue aside, this mostly looks like a boiled down version of “Taken” and “The Bourne Identity” without the edge.
“Erased” will be available on demand April 5th and hits theaters on May 10th.
