We may not know much about "Beautiful Creatures" mostly because we're probably too old for the Young Adult demo the book series and movie are aiming for, but from what we've seen so far in both pictures and the first trailer, Emmy Rossum is looking to be one to watch. And another new image from the movie backs up that notion (and it seems the Warner Bros. marketing department agrees).
A new image of the actress in the film has popped up over at Just Jared, and again it's a provocative little peek. Based on the novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the story follows Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenreich) and Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert), two teens in the deep south who are drawn together by a strange connection and supernatural secrets. Emmy Rossum has the flashy role of Ridley, Lena's manipulative cousin, who is tasked by her mother to get her daughter to choose the dark side when she comes of age. (Yeah, the plot of his one is a bit ambitious to say the least). At any rate, Rossum is looking like quite the formidable foe.
"Beautiful Creatures" opens on February 13th, but first footage from the movie will be unspooled at the New York Comic Con this month. Additional photos via Kinopoisk.
The stories I heard about Rossum (and her mother) back when Mystic River was shooting were just beyond horrific. Don't know if she's shaped up since, but man, back then she was a nightmare. Horrid little diva, supposedly….
Huh? What exactly about the laughable trailer or boring stills released so far make this one to watch? The trailer was garbage: Twilight with the genders reversed. And why do all these stills of Rossum consist of looking moodily and evilly into the distance with sunglasses with that terrible wig? Oh so frightening and formidable.
Can't wait 😀 never read the book but the trailer was awesome.
This is wrong. The footage premieres this weekend at NYCC.
