Kristen Stewart has a busy month ahead of her, and she’ll show off a bit of range at the same time. In August, the actress aims for the popcorn crowd with the stoner comedy "American Ultra," and then she will jump on a plane over to the Venice Film Festival, where she’ll help unveil the arty sci-fi flick "Equals." And a few new pictures have arrived for both.
"American Ultra" sees Stewart play the girlfriend to Jesse Eisenberg‘s seemingly ordinary pothead who discovers he’s actually a sleeper agent with Jason Bourne-like skills and is forced to go on the run. Dude, like, whoa. Here’s the official synopsis followed by the new images. It opens on August 21st.
American Ultra is a fast-paced action comedy about Mike [Eisenberg], a seemingly hapless and unmotivated stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend, Phoebe [Stewart], is suddenly turned upside down. Unbeknownst to him, Mike is actually a highly trained, lethal sleeper agent. In the blink of an eye, as his secret past comes back to haunt him, Mike is thrust into the middle of a deadly government operation and is forced to summon his inner action-hero in order to survive.
As for "Equals," it’s the new film from Drake Doremus ("Like Crazy," "Breathe In"), and it takes his knack for intimate storytelling into a futuristic world. Nicholas Hoult co-stars in the movie about a society where love doesn’t exist.

Penned by Nathan Parker ("Moon"), and also featuring Guy Pearce, Jacki Weaver, Kate Lyn Sheil, and Toby Huss, the story follows Silas (Hoult) who lives in a future society called The Collective where everything is peaceful, calm, fair, and polite and there is no greed, no poverty, no violence, and no emotion. However, a new disease known as Switched-On-Syndrome brings back the emotions that have been long repressed, and soon Silas and Nia (Stewart) experience love and intimacy for the first time.

I\’ve been waiting for this movie. Liked them in Adventureland, this should be quite different. Then we get to see them in Woody Allen. Should be fun

Kristen\’s career is skyrocketing because she is a wonderful actress who managed to pull herself out of a terrible time in her young life.

Kristen you rock girl! Keep being true to yourself & who you are as a person…I love it in a town known for being full of phonies! Oh and you were FANTASTIC in the twilight movies too! My mom (who is 70 and can\’t stand horror/blood/gore stuff) absolutely loved the twilight saga too! LOL. At the end of every movie she wanted to know if there would be another, I sadly had to tell her that was it after BD2 LOL! oh, also loved Still Alice and Clouds of Sils Maria, & Camp X-ray! We were very touched by Still Alice as we have dealt with Alzheimers for several generations in our family. I wish you all the best in your future and do hope you find love with someone(and I don\’t give a hoot if it\’s with a guy or gal!).
She\’s also shooting Woody Allen\’s next project next month and after that she\’s going directly to shoot Olivier Assayas\’s Personal Shoppper. Next month will be the start of a very exciting phase in her career.

Kristen looks like Jesse\’s brother in this, they both have similar looks and the same hairstyle, LOL. For @Jake — how is Rupert Sander\’s career done post-Twilight? I seem to recall she was out of work for 18 months after Twilight, and Rupert\’s still out of work, isn\’t he? I guess she\’s a perfect example of why it pays to have an aggressive PR rep.
I am really excited for American Ultra. It seems like a weird funny movie, besides I loved adventureland I hope this one is as good. equals has a different vibe and like crazy by drake was good
