Got a Tip?

New Images Of Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, More In ‘Batman v. Superman,’ Ben Affleck Compares Batman To Hamlet

Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of JusticeThe pressure is on Ben Affleck to deliver a Batman worthy of iconic and distinct turns by Michael Keaton and Christian Bale in "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice," but the actor isn’t sweating it one bit. “Batman is basically the American version of Hamlet,” he told EW. “We accept that he’s played by actors with different interpretations.”

So, how will his character be different? Well, Affleck notes his Bruce Wayne will be older than any previous incarnation and he’ll be bit more worse for the wear. “He’s at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There’s this sort of world-weariness to it,” he explained.

It’s an intriguing variation that will be interesting to see unfold, as this new image reveals, in the film he’ll certainly know who Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) is. However, the question is whether he suspects that she spends her time when not attending fancy black tie events, fighting crime as Wonder Woman. My guess would be yes. And the magazine has revealed more images of Superman and Lex Luthor too.

Warner Bros. will certainly have more to share from the movie at Comic-Con in just a couple of weeks. "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" opens on March 25, 2016. Pics below.

  1. @CABEL – I\’m not implying Snyder\’s actually taking ideas from Nolan, I mean his idea of Batman being huge and hulking is something Nolan trashed before making his masterful trilogy. So we\’re literally getting the excrement of that trilogy now. No thievery, just a director with less taste. 2016 woo!

  2. That\’s a stretch. Christian Bale was always bigger than Tom Hardy, 6\’1 v 5\’9 respectively. There\’s practically nothing aesthetically Snyder is pulling from Nolan in Batman\’s physicality, save for the military nature of the Batmobile.

  3. So the physicality of Batman has reverted to the version that Chris Nolan rejected before BB came out – Christian Bale was as big as Bane and Nolan thought it was too much and asked him to be lean and more stealth-like. Makes all the sense in the world that Zack Snyder would run with something Nolan rejected 11 years ago haha.
