One of the biggest movies arriving this summer is "Terminator: Genisys," but it’s also the one that has the most course correcting to do when it comes to marketing. The first trailers and images haven’t done a great job of selling the movie as the sequel/reboot/do-over that we all need to see, and it isn’t helped by Arnold Schwarzenegger lumbering around as an aged Terminator. Anyway, a few new images have arrived, and they don’t have us any more or less excited than we already were, which wasn’t much.
So, here’s a Terminator driving a truck, Sarah Connor pointing a gun, and J.K. Simmons staring at Arnie and thinking, "WTF, did I really agree to take a role in this movie?" With Arnie already talking about appearing in the inevitable sequel, it looks like this won’t be the last he says, "I’ll be back." But will audiences?

I\’m optimistic that there\’s a better final product underneath everything we\’ve seen so far. Hopefully one that is at LEAST on par with Terminator 3, but yeah seriously. All of the promo footage and material so far makes this movie look like absolute dog shit.
The trailer is a Frankenstein\’s monster of call backs, both in visuals and in dialogue, and it feels like there\’s not one original idea in it. I hope I\’m wrong, but this is one of the most fan-service poisoned franchises outside of Star Trek.
