Got a Tip?

New Images From ‘Les Misérables,’ ‘The Impossible,’ ‘Paranormal Activity 4’ & More

nullIn case you’re anxiously awaiting the Tom Hooper-helmed feature adaptation of “Les Misérables,” a new photo has dropped showing a rather angry looking Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) getting a little rough with Fantine (Anne Hathaway) – who looks eerily reminicient of a similarly balding Natalie Portman in “V For Vendetta.” Anyways, “Les Miserables” follows ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, who is ruthlessly hunted by policeman Javert (Russell Crowe) after he breaks parole. Valjean agrees to care for the factory worker Fantine’s young daughter, Cosette (Amanda Seyfried) – and oh, did we mention there is a TON of singing? The film drops just in time for the holidays on December 14th, and we’re interested to see if Hooper can bring this sweeping musical to the cinematic landscape successfully. [MTV]

nullAnd if you haven’t gotten enough of the terrifying images of “The Orphanage” helmer Juan Antonio Bayona’s disaster dama “The Impossible,” a whole new batch have hit the web showcasing Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts in this tale of a family caught, with thousands of strangers, in one of the worst natural catastrophes of all time. There’s some behind-the-scenes shots of Bayona and crew onset, as well as some more of poor McGregor and Watts clinging for dear life as the natural disaster destroys their family and lives. “The Impossible” starts a limited run stateside on December 21st. nullnullnullWhile “The Impossible” looks to bring some real terror to theaters, Paramount is banking that more people want to see shoddy camerawork and cheap atmospherics in their latest 'Paranormal Activity' outing, “P4r4norm4l 4ctivity 4,” aka “Paranormal Activity 4.” Without context, we’d assume this teenaged girl is getting a little pervy on her computer late at night – while her younger brother seems to be watching it all happen from the doorway. But knowing the franchise (*SPOILERS FOR ALL “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” MOVIES AHEAD*), we assume it’s some demon spawn who’s haunted her entire family for ages and is now looking to make loud noises and throw things around in the middle of the night. “P4r4norm4l 4ctivity 4” is set to haunt theaters on October 19th, and here’s to hoping that demonic spirits are the only ones seeing this and laughing at how us silly humans get it all wrong. nullFinally, we get a quick peek at “Carlos” and “Domino” actor Edgar Ramirez in “Libertador,” which follows the life of Simon Bolivar, who played a crucial role in Latin America's struggle for independence from the Spanish empire — and until this day is still considered one of the more influential politicians within American history. It looks a lot like Ramirez will cast come grimaces in the snow with this one, which is now in post-production with no solid release date announced just yet. You can next catch him in Kathryn Bigelow’s excellent-looking “Zero Dark Thirty” come December. [THR]

  1. Les Miz could really give Anna Karenina a run for their money in the costume design category because anne's costume is especially stunning and so are most of the costumes we have seen so far.

  2. You obviously haven't read the 150 yr old classic novel by Victor Hugo, or seen any of the previou 20+ movie adaptations or seen the musical that's been selling out all over the world for nearly 30 yrs. Hugh Jackman's character, Jean Valjean is not roughing up Fantine (Anne's character) he's actually trying to save her. If you look at his eyes you can see the concern there.

  3. Valjean is NOT 'getting rough' with Fantine in this scene. He's touching her out of compassion, to comfort her. I won't spoil the story for anybody, but suffice it to say that Valjean has nothing but pity and kindness for Anne Hathaway's character in this scene.

  4. These Les Miz photo has been around for a while, but like everything released from this film I think this will be a film to remember forever maybe being the greatest musical of all time.
