This week sees the return of CinemaCon in Las Vegas and Warner Bros. is one of the many Hollywood studios participating with various panels looking to promote their upcoming slate of feature films. One of the bigger films from Warners releasing this year is the DC Comics film “The Flash,” which is expected to be one of the last DCEU installments as the newly formed DC Studios launches a new wave of films and series. A new trailer dropped (See Below) showcasing all the crazy Multiverse stuff we’ll end up seeing in it.

“The Flash” hails from director Andy Muschietti (“IT“) and it sees the DCEU’s Barry Allen crisscrossing different universes which includes Michael Keaton‘s Batman making a triumphant return to the big screen, Michael Shannon‘s General Zod from “Man of Steel,” and Sasha Calle as a modern take on Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. Ahead of it’s summer release, the studio is screening the film at CinemaCon and should lead to some early reactions from attendees.

Here is the superhero pic’s official logline from the studio and reads as follows:

Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, is behind the first couple of projects set directly in the new DCU with an animated series of “Creature Commandos,” a live-action spinoff series featuring Viola Davis‘ Amanda Waller, Gunn will write/direct a new take of Clark Kent with “Superman Legacy,” and is still planning on making a follow-up season to “Peacemaker.”

“The Flash” is set to be released by Warner Bros. on June 16 and you can watch the new trailer below.
