Got a Tip?

New First Look Photos: Juno Temple In ‘Jack & Diane,’ Kate Bosworth In ‘While We Were Here’ & Val Kilmer In Harmony Korine’s ‘Fourth Dimension’

nullIf you were paying attention a couple of hours ago, you'll know that the Tribeca Film Festival has announced its preliminary slate beyond the opening night film, "The Five-Year Engagement." And it's a pretty good one so far, with highlights including "Jack And Diane," Bradley Rust Gray's long-awaited follow-up to the 2009's "The Exploding Girl," the Mexico-set drama "The Girl," starring Abbie Cornish, and much more.

With Tribeca's first-salvo slate announced, here come some first looks and new photos from a few of the films premiering at the festival. First up is the aforementioned teenage lesbian love tale/werewolf film (no really) "Jack And Diane" (above). This first look photo is of leads Juno Temple and Riley Keough. The rest of the cast features Jena Malone, Dane DeHaan (the bad kid from "Chronicle"), Leo Fitzpatrick and the one and only Kylie Minogue.

Next we have a first look at "While We Were Here," which is about a woman (Kate Bosworth) and her English husband who travel to Naples hoping to reinvigorate their silently disintegrating marriage and escape a personal tragedy that hangs heavily between them. She then enters into an affair with a younger man. The film also stars Jamie Blackley and Iddo Goldberg, presumably as the two men. Following that, we've got two first look images of Val Kilmer in the short film "The Fourth Dimension," as directed by Harmony Korine. In the short, a motivational speaker named Val Kilmer (played by Kilmer, natch) delivers a sermon at a roller rink. If you've seen any of Korine's recent shorts, perhaps "Umshini Wam" starring the futuristic rap-rave crew from South Africa, Die Antwoord (which you can see here in its entirety), you know they are a riot no matter how brief they can be. Last but not least is a semi new-ish photo from James Franco's "General Hospital" film — if you wanna call it that — called, "Francophrenia" (our review is here, it's odd, but entertaining).

The Tribeca Film Festival runs from April 18-29.

  1. Korine's 30 minute short is a chapter of an omnibus film called 'The Fourth Dimension" and has been going under the name "Lotus Community Workshop". Here's the details of the whole film:

The Fourth Dimension, directed by Harmony Korine, Alexey Fedorchenko, and Jan Kwiecinski, written by Harmony Korine, Alexey Fedorchenko, Jan Kwiecinski, Oleg Loevsky, and Yaroslava Pulinovich. (USA, Poland, Russia) – World Premiere, Narrative. A motivational speaker named Val Kilmer (played by Val Kilmer) delivers a sermon at a roller rink. A Russian scientist builds a time machine in his apartment. Four friends stumble upon an abandoned village in the Polish countryside. All are in search of the fourth dimension—whether they know it or not. Weird, ominous, cool, compelling: These three short films could only be inspired by the creative vision of Harmony Korine and Vice Media’s Eddy Moretti. In English, Polish, Russian with subtitles.

  2. SO STOKED about the Fourth Dimension!!! Cannot wait. Umshini Wam turned out to be my favorite Korine picture. Maybe this one can out-do it.
