With New Directors/New Films starting on April 28, we’re thrilled to give our readers an exclusive look at the trailer for the event. For those not aware, as the name implies, ND/NF showcases filmmakers who represent the present and anticipate the future of cinema, and are able to push the envelope with their art. And this year is no different.

For 2021, New Directors/New Films is opening with Amalia Ulman’sEl Planeta.” This beautiful feature explores the story of a mother and daughter barely able to scrape by in Spain. This year’s Closing Night film is Theo Anthony’s experimental documentary, “All Light, Everywhere,” which won an award at this year’s Sundance and utilizes bodycam footage to tell a story about perception, power, and policing. Overall, this year’s event will introduce 27 features and 11 shorts from all over the world to audiences.
