After having been knocked around with a few different release dates, this fall the thriller “Shut In” will finally make its way to the big screen. It marks a rare turn toward genre fare for Naomi Watts, and for her young co-star, “Room” breakout Jacob Tremblay, one of two hair-raising movies he has coming in the months ahead, including the horror, “Before I Wake.”

Penned by Christina Hodson, and directed by Farren Blackburn (episodes of “Daredevil” and “Luther“), the story follows a woman and her deaf foster child, who must come together to face a terror that comes knocking at their door. Here’s the synopsis:
A child psychologist living an isolated life in rural New England is struggling to put her life back together after the loss of her husband. She’s a strong woman whose courage is put to the test when she’s caught in a deadly storm, trapped in her home, and cut off from the world around her.
“I had to act scared a lot with Jack (in ‘Room’). But I had to act scared (in ‘Shut In’) most of the time,” Tremblay told USA Today about his role. “Tom’s a dark character. Not Batman dark. But he’s scared, has rings under his eyes and looks creepy.”
“Shut In” opens on November 11th.
