Not every movie needs to either reinvent the wheel or make us question our personal realities. Sometimes, a movie can look like it is just wanting to offer an audience a nice time, make them feel good for its runtime, and that can be enough. Distributed by Focus Features and premiering this summer, the first trailer for the film “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” looks to offer something in that vein: A quaint adventure with plenty of fancy clothes being worn.
In the leading titular role of the film is Lesley Manville, who before “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” has had her fair share of experience with wearing nice clothes in feature films, from the likes of “Phantom Thread” by Paul Thomas Anderson to appearing in the two modern “Maleficent” films from Disney.
Also featured in the film is Isabelle Huppert, known for her boundary-pushing roles in the films of director Michael Haneke and “Elle” by equally boundary-pushing director Paul Verhoeven. One can imagine this will be one of the more “quaint” films she has been in. Lastly, Jason Isaacs also has a role in the film. Isaacs has quite the eclectic career, from his extended stint as Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” series to a more recent role in the animated movie “Scoob!” as the “Wacky Racers” villain Dick Dastardly. “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” is merely one more performance to add to his collection. These three core cast members may grab the attention of potential viewers, and this trailer can offer them their first look.
