A deeply disturbing universal truth shifted between the years of 2007 and 2010 during the six-year run of “Lost” that shakes us to the core. Seth Rogen dutifully recognized in 2007’s “Knocked Up” this sharp and spot-on observation: “You know what’s interesting about Matthew Fox? Nothing!” The world chuckled, concurred and moved on. But somewhere between the release of that movie and present day, Fox’s rather amusing, poor reaction to the little dig (even if scientifically recognized as truth, it’s a comedy, dude), things changed and Fox became a entertainment magazine cover person bound for stardom thanks to the growing popularity of “Lost.”
Furthermore, while a non-entity turn in 2008’s “Speed Racer” seemed to derail his personality-less move into movies, a recent casting turn opposite Brad Pitt suggested that Hollywood was taking one more kick at the can in grooming him to be a leading man.
However, the movie gods may have intervened. Fox and Ed Harris were apparently in talks to join Pitt in Marc Forster‘s post-apocalyptic Zombie epidemic drama, World War Z,” but that’s no longer the case.
According to Vulture, both Fox and Harris have dropped out of the picture, leaving the production to scramble to find new supporting players. Fox apparently has a prior commitment with Tyler Perry‘s “I, Alex Cross” over at the studio who brought you the “Twilight” films. Now doesn’t this seem more appropriate, everyone? As for Ed Harris? No one seems to know why he dropped out. The movie has already started production in Malta. Maybe we can get a Maddox cameo as a child zombie? Either way, get those head shots in now!
One more time for good measure.
Judd Apatow comedies suck. Fox was right not to try to laugh along with a lame joke. However badly it ended, people will remember Lost a lot longer than Knocked Up.
Seems totally normal and well-adjusted to spend time hating Matthew Fox.
I always found it weird that people took digs at Fox for not having a sense of humor about that Knocked Up dig. It wasn\’t exactly a funny joke, it was just a direct insult. I get why it\’s funny to normal folks, but he was being insulted and without any wink-wink backup. The guy is a talented actor, but sadly he\’ll be taking blasts from people who didn\’t like Lost until the day he dies.
Aw, I like Fox. Thought he was great on LOST and always enjoy seeing him pop up in films.
Presumably Ed Harris finally got round to watching \’Quantum of Solace\’.
He was great in Speed Racer. Played Racer X perfectly.
