Paramount is playing a pretty interesting marketing game with “mother!” We’re only about six weeks away from the movie hitting cinemas, and while Darren Aronofsky‘s thriller will get splashy premieres in Venice and Toronto, for everyone else, the team behind the movie is playing coy. The trailers aren’t going to be revealing much, but that’s a bit refreshing, so it sounds like “mother!” is something we’ll want to experience knowing as little as possible.

Co-starring Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer, even the logline remains vague. In fact, outside of the context of this movie, it sounds like an episode of “The Office.” Here’s the official synopsis:
A couple’s relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. From filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream), mother! stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer in this riveting psychological thriller about love, devotion and sacrifice.
