As inevitable as death and taxes, more “Arrested Development” movie rumors surface every time a cast member is promoting an un-related project. But can we get a petition together that questions about the film be put on moratorium until it actually gets a script in the can and a green light? Please?
However, since they’re still being asked and those involved are still being gracious enough to talk about it, we suppose we have to keep writing about it. Today it’s Jason Bateman’s turn to fan the flames of fan expectation. “[Creator Mitch Hurwitz] has got half the script written. He’s gotta finish the second half and then the studio’s gotta love it and the cast’s gotta love it and we all have to have time to do it… It’s happening,” he told MTV News recently. Nothing new there.
What is new, though, is that Bateman at least feels that there could be a role for Jennifer Aniston, his co-star in the upcoming comedy “The Switch,” in an “Arrested Development” movie, should it ever come to fruition. “Yeah, actually, there’s a real good part for [Aniston] in the ‘Arrested Development’ movie,” said Bateman adding, “I don’t know, we’ll see if she’s available. She’s busy. She’s pretty famous; I don’t know if you’ve heard of her. Hopefully, the guy who’s in charge will like her for that part, because I’m going to suggest her.”
Aniston also seems keen: “I love it. I actually think I might have asked [Bateman] … if that was possible,” she said. “Anything to work with Jason.” Hardly definitive but enough to get people talking about the film. Again.
So to wrap up: the script is half done, Jennifer Aniston is good fit for one of roles, everyone wants and says this thing will get made, but we’ll believe it when we see it. Update: Apparently this is all a joke. Thanks to very concerned Twitter citizens this guy and online community petition-enthusiast Drew at Hitfix.

I will be the first to sign said petition. These rumors have to stop. They're sending me to an early grave.
She would be suited to play MR. F
there was another rumour way back that it could be a prequel but that was when Cera was doodallying about returning. Anyhoo, pure speculation here but could Aniston play Michael's wife in a flashback maybe or just a new love intrest?
"Bate" man. Huhuhuhuhu.
Yeah, yeah, really! "Master Bateman." Ehehehehmmmn.
