While Tom Cruise just seems like the type of person people shouldn’t like, with his Scientology background and the occasional less-than-savory story about his personal life, there’s no denying the man is one of the biggest stars on the planet. And he’s also one of the rare people in the film industry who is seemingly directly plugged in to whatever audiences are craving. I mean, who else could have made a “Top Gun” sequel turn into the biggest film of 2022? And in a new behind-the-scenes featurette about the biggest stunt yet in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, it’s clear that Tom Cruise is set out to deliver another thrill ride for audiences.
Next year, we finally get the release of “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One.” And as we move into 2023, Tom Cruise wants you to be hyped about the latest, greatest installment in the superspy franchise. He’s going to do that by showing you the immense amount of work that went into the big stunt in the film, where the actor rides a motorcycle off a cliff and parachutes to safety. And he accomplishes this task without a stunt double, wires, or camera trickery. Tom Cruise literally rides a motorcycle off a cliff (six times, no less!) for our viewing pleasure.
Cruise has attempted to one-up himself with each “Mission: Impossible” film. What started as “Oh wow, Tom Cruise does his own stunts in this film” has turned into “Jesus, does Tom Cruise have a death wish?” Each new film brings another death-defying stunt where a failure will, undoubtedly, result in his demise. It’s really nuts, to be honest.

Once again, the latest “Mission: Impossible” two-part film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

Oh yeah, and if that’s not enough, here’s a video of him skydiving while simultaneously thanking people for watching “Top Gun: Maverick.” Why? He’s fucking Tom Cruise, that’s why!
