Miramax Releases Look Back At Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill Vol. 2’ With Behind-The-Scenes Photos

As likely as Quentin Tarantino's recent claim of an ideal ten-film career is to end up an eventual over-exaggeration, even the notion of such a move from the director — along with the upcoming one-night-only “Reservoir Dogs”/”Pulp Fiction” theatrical event — may find many in a retrospective mood. Luckily, those over at Miramax are apparently feeling nostalgic as well, as they've just posted a fantastic gallery of behind-the-scenes photos from Tarantino's Whole Bloody Affair.

The early-aughts production of “Kill Bill” was noteworthy for many reasons, not least of all marking Tarantino's first film since “Jackie Brown,” and while set visits and David Carradine's published diary delved into much of the experience while shooting, Miramax has still provided a largely unseen glimpse back at the orchestrated chaos. It's a renewed treat to find the cast, including Carradine, Uma Thurman, and Daryl Hannah, back in costume, as well as seeing some lingering shots at scenes only glimpsed at in the final film (such as Sam Jackson as the Wedding Chapel Piano Player). There's even the much-discussed set photo from Michael Jai White's short-lived fight scene that eventually made it onto the Vol. 2 DVD.

All told, it's a beautiful collection, and also a worthy reminder that “Django Unchained” is slowly approaching its Christmas release. Until then, a requisite dose of the director's films can be found in the “Tarantino XX” Blu-ray box set, which hits stores tomorrow. [Miramax]nullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnull
