We just dropped our Fall TV Preview: 25 Must-See Shows, and it goes without saying that David Fincher‘s “Mindhunter” is there. The director is behind one of the best serial killer films of all time with his measured, dread-filled “Zodiac,” and the same tone seems to permeate his upcoming Netflix series. And a new teaser shows that careful balance of sober drama and sardonic humor that Fincher is bringing to the table.

Asif Kapadia (“Amy,” “Senna“), Tobias Lindholm (“A War,” “A Hijacking“) and Andrew Douglas (“The Amityville Horror,” “U Want Me 2 Kill Him?“) join Fincher behind the camera for this show, starring Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, which takes viewers inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit. As you might expect, the job involves dealing with a particular brand of dangerous weirdo.
“Mindhunter” launches on Netflix on October 13th.
