As we’ve seen in the second season of "True Detective," ambition can sometimes outreach execution, and many are wondering if Josh Trank has not achieved his vision for "Fantastic Four." It has been dogged by bad buzz — even though no one has actually seen the movie — but Miles Teller (who also hasn’t seen the finished film) says everyone involved was trying to do something different.
That said, he doesn’t feel optimistic that critics will be receptive, simply because he feels it will be immediately dismissed, as blockbusters so often are. "Rarely are films of this size critically well received," he added. "This is not a movie we’re going to go on Rotten Tomatoes and it’s going to be at 80 or 90 percent."
Wasn\’t a fan of this guy anyway, but he really comes off as a pretentious douche in interviews. Guardians of the Galaxy had 91% on Rotten Tomatoes….Winter Soldier 89%, even Ant-Man had 79%. So these types of movies can achieve 80-90% on there. This guy is just making excuses for a film that many are expecting to bomb.
Man, they are really setting themselves up for failure if this isn\’t great.
I\’m glad they were all trying to do good work. That attitude is to be commended, always.
I still don\’t want to see the movie, though.
Careful there, buddy… One of the main characters in your movie is made from orange rock.
