Mike Myers has a new series coming to Netflix, titled “The Pentaverate,” and he’s joined by a cast of his favorite co-stars…himself.
According to Netflix, Mike Myers is set to lead the cast of a new limited series, “The Pentaverate,” which has just begun production. The series features Myers in seven different roles as “brand-new characters.” Obviously, this isn’t new, as the actor has a long history of donning prosthetics and bringing multiple versions of himself to his projects.
Joining Mike Myers (‘SNL’), Mike Myers (“Austin Powers”), Mike Myers (“Wayne’s World”), Mike Myers (“The Love Guru”), Mike Myers (“Shrek”), Mike Myers (“The Cat in the Hat”), and newcomer, Mike Myers, in the cast are Ken Jeong (“Community”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Key & Peele”), Debi Mazar (“Goodfellas”), Richard McCabe (“The Audience”), Jennifer Saunders (“Absolutely Fabulous”), and Lydia West (“Years and Years”).
Here’s the synopsis:
What if a secret society of five men has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347? As this new series begins, one unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself. Remember, the Pentaverate must never be exposed!
Over the last several years, Myers hasn’t really been on screen as much as he was in the 2000s. He has had small roles in “Terminal” and “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and he’s expected to show up in the new film from director David O. Russell.
“The Pentaverate” is set to be directed and produced by Tim Kirkby. The filmmaker is probably best known for his work on projects such as “Fleabag” and “Walking and Talking.” It’s unclear when the series might arrive on Netflix, but it’s set to be a six-episode, half-hour comedy, which should likely debut sometime in 2022.
