Mickey Rourke Sends Belated Love Note To Darren Aronofsky On The Set Of ‘Iron Man 2’

“I never really cared for the comic book [films]. I didn’t like “Superman” or “Spider-Man.” They seemed pretty silly. Then I saw “Iron Man” and thought, ‘OK, this is an (expletive) good movie, a real movie. I prepared for this more than on ‘The Wrestler.’ ” — Mickey Rourke, inadvertently insults his buddy Darren Aronofsky, by telling the world he prepared for a special-effects laden comic book tentpole flick more than he did for his role that put his career back on the map, ushered in his Hollywood acceptance after years of exile, and earned him an Academy Award nomination. We’re sure Aronofsky — who sometimes had to literally drag Rourke out of bed himself to get him onto the set of the film — appreciates this recent revelation.
