Got a Tip?

Michelle Williams Is Beautiful In Blue In Poster For ‘My Week With Marilyn’

There is no doubt that Michelle Williams, twice nominated for an Oscar, is a tremendously accomplished, talented actress. Taking on the iconic Marilyn Monroe may be her biggest challenge yet, and we’ll see how she fares in “My Week With Marilyn.”

The first poster for the film has arrived and it does an excellent job of displaying how everything else pretty much faded into the background whenever Monroe was around. And if that image looks familiar, there is a reason you’re experiencing some deja vu. That picture appeared just over a week ago, reversed, with a different color scheme as another new look at the film. Clearly, someone in the The Weinstein Company marketing department is having lots of fun with Photoshop. As for the film, it’s based on an assistant’s diary kept during the production of “The Prince and the Showgirl,” and follows Monroe’s friendship with said assistant, Colin Clark, chronicles her stay in England and her tempestuous relationship with director/co-star Laurence Olivier. Eddie Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh, Dougray Scott, Judi Dench, Julia Ormond, Derek Jacobi, Dominic Cooper and Emma Watson round out the strong cast.

The film will premiere at the New York Film Festival before hitting theaters on November 4th. Check out the full poster below. [Moviefone]

  2. You KNOW any project with an actress playing Monroe just kills Lindsay Lohan because she\’s not in the role. She was the poster-starlet for teenage Marilyn Monroe-obsession – now every other high-schooler\’s Facebook bio has that long quote of hers about no man deserves her if they can\’t put up with her severe psychological insecurities.

  3. This is a stellar all-star cast but there are too many actresses playing Marilyn Monroe in different projects. Poppy Montgomery in the television mini-series, Blonde, Michelle Williams in My Week with Marilyn, Naomi Watts in the forthcoming film, Blonde, Angelina Jolie was rumoured in The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend, Marilyn Monroe. I wish only one actress would play her in every project.
