Got a Tip?

Michael Shannon Isn’t Messing Around On First Poster For Hitman Tale ‘The Iceman’

nullBoasting one of the best performances last year in the psychological drama "Take Shelter," Michael Shannon will take a bit of a different turn starring in Ariel Vromen's real-life hitman chronicle "The Iceman."

The project once had a few bigger names surrounding Shannon namely James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Benicio Del Toro but, as it struggled to get off the ground, it gained a decent cast that includes Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer and Winona Ryder. The story follows the exploits of Richard Kulinski, one of the most notorious mob hitmen, claiming over 100 kills while keeping his true identity secret from his wife and kids. Schwimmer plays fellow hitman Josh Rosenthal with Liotta as his mob boss Roy Demoe, Ryder as Shannon's unsuspecting wife and Evans as his mentor.

It sounds promising. While this "test scene" footage which has been kicking around for a while isn't exactly exciting, it's not the best barometer for how the final product will turn out. We're always up for more Shannon, and taking on the role of a hitman sounds like it could be yet another compelling turn. The first poster for the movie has turned up and that gun is certainly….phallic…. [CinemaTeaser]

  1. As a fan of Michael Shannon, look forward strongly to the projects of him including this one. The test footage looks not bad. There have been already two posters of it.

  2. "it gained a decent cast that includes Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer and Winona Ryder."—-> How is that just DECENT? That's an amazing line-up and sounds a hell of a lot more promising than model-turned-serious-actor-turned-nobody-understands-me-enigma James Franco.
