Michael Moore has made his….dislike….of Donald Trump quite clear. He’s long been one of the most vocal opponents to the current President Of the United States, and last fall, even knocked out a quickie documentary of his one-man show, “Michael Moore In TrumpLand” (it wasn’t that great). But now he’s going to go a bit deeper, and hit Trump a little bit harder.
Moore is currently filming “Fahrenheit 11/9,” a flip on the title of his acclaimed “Fahrenheit 9/11,” which obviously references the election month which saw Trump take power. Apparently, production is being done in secret, but a familiar team is working with Moore, including his ‘9/11’ team Meghan O’Hara, Tia Lessin and Carl Deal, with Harvey Weinstein swooping in and landing the worldwide rights to the picture.
If you’re wondering if Moore might take a different approach than his usual blunt instrument style, guess again, because he suggests his film is going to make a real difference. “No matter what you throw at him, it hasn’t worked,” Moore said. “No matter what is revealed, he remains standing. Facts, reality, brains cannot defeat him. Even when he commits a self-inflicted wound, he gets up the next morning and keeps going and tweeting. That all ends with this movie.”
Well, we’ll see — Trump has uncanny knack for remaining standing, despite one knock after another, and chances are we’ll probably hear from the orange buffoon about this movie on Twitter before the week is out. But here’s hoping Moore has a rigorous takedown planned, because there’s certainly plenty of material to mine from. [Variety]
