Yes, we’ve seen “Pineapple Express” and we’ve determined – long ago actually – that the M.I.A. song in the trailer, “Paper Planes” is not in the movie.
No matter. How do we know “Pineapple Express” is going to be a big hit with probably around a $45 million box-office take-in when it opens on August 6? (that’s our conservative guess) Well, for one, given the fact the trailer is so damn popular it’s given new life to M.I.A’s track from the Kala record she released in 2007 and entered the cultural sphere. The track is almost a year old now (it was released with the album on August 20, 2007), but the anticipation and buzz of “Pineapple Express,” not to mention the way the song is expertly used in the trailer, has seen it shoot up the Billboard singles and Itunes charts.
Thanks to the trailer for the David Gordon Green directed and Judd Apatow produced, stoner comedy, “Paper Planes” has lit up, jumping to #1 on iTunes electronic song chart and #18 on the iTunes singles chart. The track has also made its way up the Billboard top 200 singles chart to No. 55. Pretty amazing considering how old the song is, but it does show the power of a well-placed song in a trailer. It’s taken on a life of its own. Long before this zeitgeist moment happened, we had marvelled over the use of the song in the trailer, it works so well, it hypes you up and totally gets you in the mood for the film and we evidently weren’t the only ones. This would’ve been the trailer of the year – or one of them regardless – and everyone has caught on. There’s tons of remixes of this track if you’re interested as well by the DFA, Ad Rock and many more. It may not be in the actual movie, but one things for certain, it’s definitely better than that lame Huey Lewis song.

There’s some buzz going on regarding the siri lankan rap artist and the siri lankan extremist group (LTTE), i just found this and want to share:

Universal Music Group pulled her song off the trailer of their new film Pineapple Express… is this the start of the end of MIA’s music career in the US?
Rumor has it that Canada is strongly considering banning MIA from entering the country due to her possible terrorist connections.
The US refused MIA’s visa numerous times, they need to yank it out of her hand on her way out of the country!
And I just found this link to E-Entertainment TV’s website:
E-Online has posted the article about MIA and we need to have 300 comments on their page BY THE END OF TODAY in order to get their attention and further featuring on their site.
