Got a Tip?

Mia Wasikowska And Matt Lucas In ‘Alice In Wonderland,’ Allison Anders To Mount Comeback? Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree Of Life’ Bamboozles Actor

Two more images from Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland” have been unveiled. This time its Alice herself, played by Mia Wasikowska, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum, played by Matt Lucas of “Little Britain” fame. [RopesOfSilicon]

French soft rockers Air have composed the soundtrack to Chinese visual artist Yi Zhou’s short film “The Dream of Yi.” The group have also just announced plans for their sixth album to be titled, Love 2, coming out later this year around early October. [PFM]

Is indie director Allison Anders making a comeback? The filmmaker who was lucky enough to be one of the four directors in “Four Rooms,” and also was the force behind the excellent, “Gas, Food Lodging” indie in 1992 (hello, excellent J. Mascis acoustic score; her 1987 debut “Border Radio,” has also been lovingly reissued by the Criterion Collection). But she hasn’t made a film since 2001’s “Things Behind the Sun” and has spent most of the aughts directing TV (“Sex & The City”). Apparently a new project is on the horizon and it’s called, “6 Foot Rule” [IOnCinema]

Paris Hilton was apparently “Brüno”/ Sacha Baron Cohen’s first choice to be involved in the MTV Movie Awards infamous fake stunt, but apparently didn’t want to be involved and Eminem was game instead. [SFGate]

The likes of Adam Sandler, Sylvester Stallone, Jon Favreau, Judd Apatow, Jim Breuer, Faizon Love, Bas Rutten and Cher have signed on to star in the god awful sounding Kevin James and Rosario Dawson vehicle “Zookeeper.” The film center on a group of zoo animals trying to teach the keeper their methods of dating and mating to help him win back the woman of his dreams. Brian Grazer will produce a Larry Doyle adaptation of his novel “Go Mutants!” The story, a teen comedy/adventure, is set in a high school where all of the tropes from classic 1950s alien invasion movies came true. Years later, the children of those mutant creatures have assimilated among the other kids. [Variety]

Harold Ramis is happy he passed on the “Super Mario Brothers” film, you know, so he could go on to make other masterpieces like “Year One.” Ramis apparently loved the game and then the movie was a notorious flop. “I’m glad I said no,” he said [Yahoo]

No one seems to know what Terrence Malick’s “The Tree Of Life” is exactly all about, even the actors who starred in the damn thing. Actress Pell James says, “I’ve heard [about the dinosaurs too]. I was not in a scene with a dinosaur. I will confirm that. I Google it like anyone else would because I wouldn’t ever dare ask him. I read the script and there’s very long descriptions of things and this and that. We weren’t exactly sure if the script was what was actually being shot. So, I don’t know but I’m excited.” LOL. The film is said to be coming out in 2009, but we’re not holding our breath, frankly. [Collider]

Here’s a teaser trailer for M. Night Shymalan’s “The Last Airbender,” the live-action adaptation of the popular animated children’s show.
