With “Parasite” just arriving last year, we’re still going to have to wait a bit longer for a new Bong Joon Ho feature film. In honor of NEON’s “Memories of Murder” re-release being available in select theaters now and on VOD next week, we’re thrilled to offer our readers a chance to look at an exclusive clip from the film. If you’ve never watched “Memories of Murder,” Bong’s film tells the true story of South Korea’s first serial killer, through the point-of-view of the detectives tasked with finding him. The clip shows just how important a rare, seemingly random radio request might be in the investigation into the identity of this killer.

Much like “Parasite,” “Memories of Murder” is considered a modern classic, and some around these parts, call it Bong’s best work to date. The film also now sits in an interesting period in history. Though the feature was originally released in 2003, the murders at the heart of the story were recently brought back into headlines after South Korean officials revealed the true identity of the killer, making the context around the film even more intriguing.

As mentioned, the film is now playing in select theaters and will be available on VOD on October 27. You can watch the exclusive clip below, as well as the new trailer for the film.
