Meet The Crew From ‘Alien: Covenant’ In New Image

Alien: Covenant” is highly anticipated, but it’s safe to say there are still some reservations. Ridley Scott‘s picture, visually, looks as stunning as ever, but the first red-band trailer, complete with a sex scene in the shower that ends in blood, was pretty cornball at times. Here’s hoping that’s just marketing and not indicative of the final product.

We’ll likely find out tomorrow as 20th Century Fox will be launching a new promo for the film during the next episode of “Legion.” So until then, here’s another look at the crew of ‘Covenant’ and the official synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise.  The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world.  When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

  1. Not a good sign.

The Nostromo had a crew of just seven hunting around a cavernous ship for a monster. Such a low number of crew members elevates the tension because they only have two choices: corner themselves as a group and wait for the monster to come knocking or break up into tiny, vulnerable groups and go out hunting for the monster.

By contrast, we now have 14 (exactly double!) standing around that very familiar looking table, which would seem to reinforce the impression from the trailer that they are more interested in upping the kill count than returning to the source of tension that worked so beautifully in the original.
